Plymouth International's close proximity to the rapidly expanding Derriford Hospital, the Nuffield Hospital and the new headquarters for the Peninsula Medical School put it at the centre of one of Europe's largest medical communities.
An established centre of excellence for medical technologies and services, Plymouth International was chosen as the ideal location for one of only three new Radiology Academies in the country, as well as a new 44-bed Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, specialising in orthopaedic diagnostic treatment and rehabilitation.
Twenty acres of the site have also been acquired by the NHS for the Vanguard Project, which will provide a new multi-million Planned Care Centre on the site.
Businesses in the sector which have already chosen to locate to Plymouth International have found it perfectly positioned to attract high calibre graduates and access developing spin-off technologies, with close links into medical sector research and teaching establishments as well as the University of Plymouth and developing businesses at the nearby Tamar Science Park.
